Fact Number 1: It Was His Dream of Becoming A Lawyer

Initially, his plans for his series of writing stints is to finance his dream of entering law school, Georgetown University, since he was forced to finance his education because he was already an orphan that time.

But his earnings are simply not enough to sustain his studies, so he chose to withdraw from the school. This was a miracle in disguise because, after this setback, his love for writing grew, which would prepare him for his future successful ventures.

Fact Number 2: His Stepmother Encouraged Him To Write

But the young boy, even with his developing love for writing, needs more encouragement. Thanks to Napoleon Hill’s stepmother, who encouraged him to write and gave him a typewriter as a gift, he was able to publish legendary books that still exist today and continues to change the world.

Before Napoleon had the fascination of holding a pen, the first thing he actually like to hold is a six-shooter since he was a rebellious kid and a great fan of Jesse James.

A rebellious kid with a six-shooter, as everybody knows, is a perfect combination for disaster, and if not for Hill’s stepmother, Napoleon might have a different story to tell in which we would not surely admire.

Fact Number 3: He Learned The Ways of Wealthy People

Think and Grow wasn’t Napoleon Hill’s first venture in writing. His love for writing started as early as 1896 when he was 13 years old and first worked at his father’s paper.

This determination leads to his first publication and his first best-seller entitled ‘Law of Success,’ which was published in 1928. In this book, he discussed that harmony, capitalism, freedom, and democracy are the most important foundations of his newfound philosophy.

The book was endorsed non-other than by the brightest minds at that time, such as William H. Taft, John D. Rockefeller, Thomas Edison, Edward W. Bok, and Luther Burbank.
